Invitation to Tender: Family Business Sector Report Series 2026–29

FBRF is inviting proposals for the next phase of its family business sector report series, covering reporting cycles 2026–27 and 2028–29.

Since 2008, FBRF has published sector reports examining the size, structure and economic contribution of family businesses in the UK, with reports appearing regularly since 2014. The most recent, produced with Cebr in 2025, estimated that UK family firms generate around £2.8 trillion in turnover, £985 billion in gross value added, and support approximately 15.8 million jobs. The new commission will sustain and update this evidence base across two reporting cycles, with a break clause between them.

The research will draw primarily on the UK Government’s Longitudinal Small Business Survey (LSBS).

We welcome proposals from research organisations, consultancies and individuals with relevant expertise in economic impact analysis, secondary analysis of business survey data, and policy-facing report writing.

The deadline for proposals is Friday 7 August 2026.
