The Family Business Research Foundation (FBRF) is pleased to share a small selection of research studies and practical guides from the WIFU Foundation. The WIFU Foundation promotes research, teaching, and knowledge transfer in the field of family entrepreneurship. A key beneficiary of its funding is the Witten Institute for Family Business (WIFU) at Witten/Herdecke University. In addition, the Foundation supports other academic projects and research institutions. FBRF is a UK charity dedicated to improving knowledge and understanding of family firms and their contribution to the UK economy and society.

This selection forms part of a collaboration between the WIFU Foundation and FBRF and is intended to make a number of relevant WIFU studies and practice guides more easily accessible to a UK audience. The WIFU Foundation mainly focuses on studies and support for German family businesses, but their work also includes international and comparative studies of family businesses. Many of the themes and questions covered in the WIFU Foundation’s reports and evidence-based guidance will be of interest/relevance to family firms operating in the UK. It is only a small sample of the WIFU Foundation’s wider body of work, and visitors looking for more WIFU Foundation publications and information should visit the WIFU Foundation website.
